Some white extremists, racialists, alarmists and others have expressed fears that his likely imminent death will trigger widespread bloodshed in South Africa, namely the mass murder of the white minority. Even the respected Independent Online recently published a story with the headline “Whites Fear Mayhem After Mandela’s Death,” which alleges that there is a “widespread” fear that blacks will start killing whites as soon as Mandela expires. Some whites cite the murders and land confiscations in neighboring Zimbabwe (formerly called Rhodesia) when white power ended. Ernst Roets, deputy chief executive of AfriForum, a group that says it represents the interests of minorities in South Africa, told The Guardian: “We get a lot of fear. We do get calls from people saying they’re scared about the day Mandela dies and what they should do. There are fringe organizations that say ‘flee the country.’ We are encouraging people to be aware and look after their own safety.”
One extremist, Leon Wolfe wrote: “The poorest of the poor will use it as an excuse to loot, the stupidest of the stupid will use it as an excuse to murder. The ANC will run away, the US (already on their way) will use it as an excuse to “restore order” and secure SA’s mineral resources for themselves. And then it’s going to hit the fan. Sing your praises about harmony and ubuntu if you like. See the number of violent service delivery protests as an example of the reigning mentality in this country. Be ready or be dead.”
But the real issue should not be white fear but Afrikan reparations. Today, very few, if any, South Africans have been allocated land by the Government. Poverty and landlessness is widespread among the Blacks of South Afrika. The "ending" of Apartheid has done little to change their plight. Unlike in Zimbabwe, South Africa had no deliberate policy to redistribute land. In the case of Zimbabwe, every man who needed land during the land reform program, received it free. No one paid anything. Today, Zimbabweans smile to the various agriculture product markets and if you ask them, they attribute their new found economic power to President Mugabe and his Zanu-PF party. To the contrary, the Black Government in South Africa has lived on rhetoric and nothing practical; this is precisely the reason why Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is a hero to the ordinary South African more so than their own president, Jacob Zuma. And with Mandela on his deathbed, the debate over the land issue in South Africa is growing among the Afrikan population. The Black government has not even redressed the Native Land Act of 1913, a law that gave the white settlers advantage over the Afrikan majority on land allocation. Though the law was repealed in 1991, its legacy was still being felt today, almost 20 years after South Africa became a democratic country.
When a democratic government was elected in 1994, it committed itself, in accordance with the rule of law, to address the inequalities of land ownership and “particularly to those dispossessed as a result of it. “Land dispossession is no doubt the fundamental violation of the rights of the indigenous people and the original sin, so to speak, of those who came to settle in the country,” said President Zuma.
Zuma called the 1913 Natives Land Act “the original sin” of those who came to settle in South Africa. “Land dispossession is no doubt the fundamental violation of the rights of the indigenous people and the original sin, so to speak, of those who came to settle in the country. The government has undertaken to restore 30 percent of the land back to Africans by 2014. “As we are all aware, progress has however been slow, and we have admitted that the 2014 redistribution target will not be met,” Zuma said, adding: “Only 6.7-million hectares of land have so far been transferred through redistribution and restitution.”
But thus far, all Zuma's talk has amounted to lip service. So many young South Afrikans want to take a lesson from Zimbabwe. And this is the white South Afrikan's and the Western world's great fear. It would further rock their global economy and be a blow to White Supremacy.
